I struggled with our decision to take the girls to the 9/11 museum. It is one thing to show them a natural disaster museum, like the Hurricane Katrina museum in New Orleans – but to have to explain what a terrorist is & the horrible hate in our world, breaks my heart. I felt like by telling them, I was taking some of their beautiful innocence away. We talked a lot about it before we went & we focused a lot on the heroes of that horrid day.
I am so glad we went. Even though it was one of the worst days in American history, Love won over Hate. I pray that my three girls will know & remember the sacrifice that so many made that day. That no matter how ugly the day, the hour, there is a love that can conquer.
